I am a constituent reaching out asking you to vote NO and fight against bills allowing law enforcement agencies to avoid any sort of accountability or responsibility. Police cannot investigate themselves, and in the private sector this would never be acceptable.

Please vote NO on:

HB2319: This bill criminalizes the recording of a law enforcement activity within eight feet of the activity without permission from a law enforcement officer, except for a few exceptions. Most of them are arbitrary and the officer is able to revoke permission at any moment. That is not fair to victims and expands distrust between civilians and law enforcement.

HB2650: This would allow police would be allowed to investigate themselves for incidents involving deadly force. A double standard for government agencies which would never be permitted elsewhere.

HB2326: A cruel bill which requires law enforcement to post the mugshots of undocumented people charged with any crime, despite this not being done for citizens. There is no reason or need for this and only aids to further stigmatism and harm.
