Anti-democracy state legislators are trying to take away our power at the ballot box! Tell them to vote NO on HCR2058.

In addition to the federal census which counts all residents, HCR2058 creates a second, unnecessary, and expensive “Arizona census” which would only count citizens instead of all residents for the creation of legislative districts. This referral would undermine the critical win of removing the citizenship question, which discourages participation and negatively impacts undocumented and BIPOC communities, from the federal census.  At its heart, HCR2058 is an attempt at gerrymandering, plain and simple.  

And Arizona's Clean Election program would be gutted to pay for this "census!" 

 

Because it is a referral, Gov. Hobbs can NOT veto HCR2058. It's up to Arizona voters to tell our legislators to vote NO on HCR2058.
